23 July 2009 - We folks, we came, we conquered and we partied!!! Anther great Kelso has come and gone and what a bloody weekend it was!
The Committee would like to thank all the Clubs who's members volunteered over the weekend - especially to all you lovely folk who doubled and tripled up on shifts - once again, without your help, there would be no Kelso. Also thanks to all the traders, bands, entertainment, bar and catering staff, etc for helping with the enjoyment!!
We would also like to thank all of you for coming - obviously - and making it the best Kelso ever. We hope EVERYONE enjoyed themselves?

27 April 2009 - Got the following Email from Dino from Overlanders Sc in Northern Ireland to say that they have managed to secure the talents of the newly reunited Purple Hearts for their Rally - Details below:
To coincide with this year being the 30th anniversary of the ''79 Mod Revival'', we have great pleasure in announcing the Purple Hearts will be playing 'live' at our Annual Rally - Revved Up on 7th and 8th August 2009 ONLY 25 MILES FROM BELFAST).
After weeks of negotiations by myself, Adi Clark with Robin Quartermain, Jeff Shadbolt the rest of the original band members (Rob, Simon and Gary), the conformation was secured, the 'Hearts' have said they are'well up' for entertaining the NI crowd once again (as 20+ years since the last gig) and they promise us a ''nite to remember''.
So all you Mods/ex-Mods out there, if you missed out on seeing these Mod legends gig back in the 80's, do yourselves a favour and don't miss out again, now is your big chance!! ..... as they will be ''live'' on stage on the Saturday night ...... rumours are they have only re-united for this years '79 revival' anniversary at a few selected venues with this being their only Ireland gig.

15 April 2009 - Got an Email from Paul Green from the Vespa Club of Scotland to say that this years Cannonball will NOT be taking place on the dates advertised in August (28-29 August), if at all.

14 April 2009 - Congratulations and well done to all at Edinburgh Blues Scooter Club and the staff at Eclipse for organising the Open Day and Charity Ride Out in aid of Erskine House (for army veterans). 117 scooters made the long ride out to Dreghorn Barracks and on the day £600 was raised - brilliant!!!
Well done to Stuart Smith's Lammy 'Bring Back the Memories' for winning the trophy - picked by the army - "it says it all" was the answer to why that scoot!!
Also want to say that there was a brilliant turn out by Scottish Clubs at the Scarborough National Rally at the weekend - everywhere I went I bumped into familiar faces!! Spotted (that I can remember) were - Edinburgh Blues SC, Globetrotters SC, Edinburgh SC, My World SC, Animals Fae Naboombu SC, Lonesharks SC, Coyotes SC, Dalkeith & District SC, East Lothian SC, Gorehounds SC, Ghosts SC, Wild Turkeys SC, Glasgow East End SC, Cider Circle SC, Aberdeen SC - sorry if I missed anyone.......

30 March 2009 - Congratulations and well done to Karen and all at the Glasgow Globetrotters Scooter Club for organising the excellent Charity Ride Out in aid of Croftcroighn School. 162 scooters turned up on Saturday and on the day £900 was raised for the school with other donations still to come in - brilliant!!!
The Headmistress and all at the school were gobsmacked at the turn out - it did make an impressive sight on the ride up when looking back from near the front.
The rolls n sausage, cakes, etc went down a treat with all us cold scooterists!!

Just thought I would drop you an email and let you know of our new website. www.2stroketrader.co.uk Dedicated to the 2 stroke geared scooters. Anyone can BUY & SELL parts, scooters, accessories, gifts, old parts, new parts anything related to 2 stroke scooters, Lambretta, Vespa, LML or Bajaj. We started the site after being originally commissioned by the Veteran Vespa Club, to offer a way to list their items for sale. Now its open to all clubs, scooterists and dealers. Its basically its similar to Ebay, its not an auction you sell the items straight away but without the crazy costs, did you know ebay take 10% of what ever you sell called the final selling fee ! List items on 2strokeTrader and its FREE. Anyone can add items it costs nothing ! Special Club Area. We also have a special area where you can add your club and have your own special exclusive area where only your members can have access too. They view items added privately added by other members for sale only to club members. Their is a forum where you can chat about anything, items for sale or just general chat its simple and easy to use. There is an events calendar where you can see everything coming up for the next year. You also have your own club page which is open for anyone to see. Club admins can add members photos, more info about the club, where you meet etc a good starting point where potential members can read more. Its your page to add what you like. Your special club area has its own admin features, where you can turn options on/off, accept/add/remove members, remove forum posts, post events and upload flyers. We also have a photo uploader where you can upload all photos of your club members at a recent rally event which gets added to the rally photo gallery open for all to view and add to. We are asking all club admins to sign up and add your club so we can give you the admin features to enable your members access to your exclusive area. Simply pop along to the website, click LOGIN at the top of the page, complete the fields, you'll need to verify your email address. Once you are logged in, click on 'your club' and then 'Add your club'. Fill out the fields about your club and once verified you'll have access as club admin to extra features to control the special area. Remember the site is new, it went live on 1st March so there are only a few items for sale at the moment list by a few members of VVC and some dealers. This week we're letting all the club admins know. So far we've had an amazing interest. I hope you'll get a chance to pop along to the new site, let your club members know and spread the word.
